Full Sail University Offers One of the Most Extensive Creative Arts Programs in the Nation

If you are thinking about a career in filmmaking, game design, music, or entertainment, then you have probably heard about Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. Full Sail University offers one of the most extensive creative arts programs you can imagine. However, the tuition is not cheap. And the school's location is not near the usual entertainment centers of New York nor Los Angeles. However, the school is about 90 minutes from Orlando, where there are some Disney related studios. Here are some factors to consider when thinking about Full Sail University.

  • Are you certain about your career? - Some people want to direct films. However, some people want to work in film. This is a huge difference. If you are sure you want to be a director, then you should consider enrolling. However, if you are unsure if you want to direct or write or perhaps be an editor or director of photography, then you should consider waiting before diving into a long term school program.
  • Can you learn your craft on your own? - If you are interested in computer animation, you can probably learn many of the skills available online from YouTube tutorials to free online software like Blender. It may be a good idea to spend a year learning on your own. And then, when you are ready for a serious career, you will have a head start on the other students and will be able to tackle complex projects right when you graduate.
  • Are you anxious to go to Los Angeles? - Many people who want a career in entertainment, dream about heading to Los Angeles. And you may become anxious if you are down in Winter Haven, feeling that you are missing opportunities.

Full Sail University is a great school. But you have to be prepared to be a great student before you enroll. Carefully consider your career goals and research the school carefully. And don't be afraid to contact the school for more information about a specific program.
