Hiding Gold In Your Home
72Use Gold's Small Size to your Advantage When Hiding Your Precious Metal
Many people smartly keep their gold in their homes. However, many are worried that a thief or home invader can get away with their gold coins and bars. However, with some creatiev thinking, you cna safely hide your gold.
Before we list some ideas, consider the following. Gold can not be destroyed by fire. So you don't have to "fireproof" your gold. Sure, your collectable gold will lose value but you will still be able to recover your gold and get the melt value.
Gold is also small. Therefore you can take advantage of the smaller size.
I am going to avoid the typical solutions: Safes, Food Can safes and book safes. Instead, these ideas consider you creating your own "safe" and "Storage" area. These ideas also consider that you will want to store your gold and leave it there. These methods are not designed for you to have quick access to your gold. However, the advantage is that a criminal will not have quick access to your gold either.
- Step 1. Hiding Gold within walls, floor and ceiling - Wrap your gold bullion in a cloth or place in a case. Then use plaster of paris to create a mold around the case. Second. Find the place in your residence that is the people visit the least and is the hardest to reach. For some, that could be the attic. For others, the basement. Or a remote closet. Cut out a hold in your wall, floor or ceiling and store the gold. Then cover the hold. And then install something made of metal over it. For instance, if you put your gold in a wall, put a metal hook over it. For one, it will remind you where you kept your gold. And it allows people who use metal or stud finders to dismiss any signal.
- Step 2. Take a photographic reminder - Sometimes you can forget where you hid your gold. Take a photo of where you hid the gold. And most particularly, take a photo of the metal object where the gold is hidden. No one will know the significance of the photo. But you will.
- Step 3. Place barriers in front of the area - Let's say you hid your gold in a wall, in a remote closet and you placed a metal hook in front of it. Great. Now place other things over it. For instance. Consider old junk no one would want to touch. Or consider placing the lock on the closet door. If you don't want to use a lock, simply modify the door to make it harder to open. Purposely jam the door to create a disincentive to go into that closet.
It's a good idea to keep gold in your possession. With some creative thinking, you can ensure your gold is safe for years to come.
